Chai Teas
Chai literally means "spiced tea." Our blends use traditional chai spices, then vary the tea base from black tea, green tea, rooibos and even caffeine-rich yerba mate.
This tea tastes best when blended with milk and a fair amount of sweetener. The milk can be added after brewing the tea, or the tea can be brewed right in the milk -- however you prefer.
IMPORTANT: Shake chai package very well to evenly distribute all the spices.
Brewing Instructions:
Use 1 generous teaspoon of chai per cup, and place into teapot. Add boiling water and let steep 5 - 10 minutes. As the tea is steeping, fill each cup 20% full of milk and add 2 teaspoons of sugar. Add hot chai when it has finished steeping.
My European girlfriend substitutes sweetened condensed milk (about 10% of the total volume of her cup), fills her cup with ice cubes, steeps the chai at least 10 minutes for a stronger flavor, then adds the hot chai to her cup for her after-dinner drink.
